Somis Academy pathways to graduation

College Prep (CP) courses are offered for students who are preparing for four year universities directly from High School.

Advanced Placement (AP) courses are available for students who choose to do advanced level coursework. In addition, we encourage students to take elective courses at the Community Colleges during their junior and senior years.

General Education courses are available for students who want to meet the state standards and maybe are undecided about their future plans. This pathway will meet the admissions criteria for the Community College. Also, this pathway may allow for a student to explore more career opportunities.

Regional Occupational Program (ROP) is open to Somis students in the 11th and 12th grades. Somis students can attend at the Camarillo Airport or at the local high school near their place of residence. See the School counselor for more information on this program.

HIGH SCHOOL Curriculum

Parent Self-Designed courses are an option for parents who want to design a course for their individual student. Families who are interested in this would see their supervising teacher or the School Counselor for more information.

Specialized Instruction is available for students who need assistance in the subject areas of Language Arts and Mathematics.

The Visual and Performing Arts School diploma is available for those who are serious about their Art Program. Students who are already involved in Performing Arts or Visual Arts opportunities may take advantage of this offering.

The Business School diploma is available for students who are considering an entrepreneurial pathway as an adult. Many students are interested in starting their own business when they graduate. The Business coursework will prepare the student for the business environment, that may serve to jump-start their future Business career.
